Beautiful, clean, with a look of real utility, but with a knowledge of a sword's construction, it looks flimsy, to me. The blade looks like it's clamped into the hilt, without a tang that extends all the way into the hilt, which would hurt both the balance, without a counterweight in the pommel, and put every ounce of the stress a sword accumulates on the portion of the hilt that holds the blade, instead of spreading it through the entire hilt.

Of course, there is plenty of room in that hilt for a tang to extend into the hilt; it's quite possible for this to be made as a functional and durable weapon, but it still presents a fragile appearance.

That said . . . . . . it's also gorgeous, though I seem to see elements in the hilt that might be taken straight from some of the Star Wars light sabers I've seen.

Yes I agree with you, that is the weakness. need part of knife in the hilt, but not enough though
( otherwise becoming two part is easy only some leather ties and steel hold its knife, than this sword perfect for displaying.) Not for long / great battles :)
Limited act capability, one side slashing but interesting nice design.

I think it would actually serve it well to make it a ful-tang blade; with part of the blade running all the way through the entire handle. I don't think the blade should be separated in any way; I think the entire blade should fork, but remain one piece. The visible portion would appear to be tied-in, while the hidden part, the real support, could extend all the way to the base of the hilt. It could easily be a fully functional blade, even if the appearance was deceptive as to how the blade's secured.

As for being limited as a slashing blade, most blades are limited. There are thrusting swords, there are slashing swords, and there are various cut-and-thrust swords, but I don't know of any cut-and-thrust sword that thrusts as well as a thrusting sword, or cuts as well as a slashing sword. Though to my eye, it's got a few too many straight lines to be my preference for a saber.

But yes, quite beautiful.
